Where there is love, there is peace (Augustine Commentary on the First Letter of St John Prologue)
We are a Community of Catholic Religious Sisters, Canonesses of St Augustine. Our life is based on the ideals of unity, love and compassion, as expressed in the fourth-century Rule of Saint Augustine.
These ideals inspire us to make Boarbank a centre of healing and hospitality where everyone is welcome.
Thinking of visiting us? We'd love to see you! Have a look at our NEWS and see what goes on here.
'The passion of Christ signifies the miseries of this life, the resurrection of Christ the blessedness of the next' (St Augustine, Sermon 233.1)
On 11th February 2014, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, we celebrated with great joy the first profession of Sr Florence Suimin.
He who accepts the common life possesses God (Augustine Sermon 355.6)
The present community consists of twelve Augustinian sisters and two Benedictines. We also have a resident chaplain and assistant chaplain.
